The specialty of today, inspired on a rich history.

Wispe is one of the first names of the Dutch city Weesp. Thanks to the clean water of the river 'Vecht', the city was well known for its beer breweweries of outstanding quality. The brewers from Weesp were not only appreciated in the Netherlands, but also far beyond the Dutch borders.

Besides beer, another important economic era for Weesp was the cocoa-industry. The world famous process of 'Dutching' finds its origin in this city. Dutching allows cocoa beans to grind into powder which is suitable for making (chocolate) drinks. This process was invented by the Van Houten family which had its chocolatefactories in Weesp.

These two ingredients are the inspiration for Wispe blonde. Wispe is a high quality brewed beer with the addition of a touch of cocoa.
